Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring 2+ years of recent acute care experience and a Maine or compact RN license.
Details
- Work on a Transitional Care Med/Surg unit (LTC/SNF) within a hospital setting
- 46-bed unit with a mix of medical and surgical patients who are medically ready for discharge
- Patient ratio up to 1:8
- Uses specialty beds, Philips monitors, overhead lifts, Sara Steady, bladder scanner, Hover Mat, Sage Mat, and other mobility equipment
- Charts in Epic EMR
- Night shift schedule (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- No call requirements
- May float based on skillset, including a 25-mile float policy between facilities as needed
Requirements
- Active RN license (Maine or Compact) required upon consideration
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience required, plus prior travel experience
- Recent EMR/charting experience required
- Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references required
Additional Information
- Provide patient-centered nursing care to a mix of medical and surgical patients preparing for discharge
- Deliver care as part of a collaborative, team-oriented unit
- Complete required Healthstream education modules
- Scrubs may be any color but must be fragrance-free; artificial nails, hoodies, graphic t-shirts, and open-toed shoes are not permitted
- Candidates located within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are considered local, which affects pay rate but not eligibility
- Local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions
- RTO should be minimal, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract
- Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should note this during consideration
- First-time travelers may be considered for this role
