When you work in Freight Logistics and Operations at Kuehne+Nagel, you play a key role in optimising processes and ensuring that inventory and shipments move efficiently. But that is not all. The Site Project Logistics and Asset Manager is responsible for safe, efficient, and compliant logistics operations including transportation, warehousing, inventory, fuel control, and logistics asset management to support project execution.
How you create impact
Logistics Operations
- Plan and coordinate movement of materials from ports/staging areas to site.
- Align transport schedules with construction priorities and timelines.
- Ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective logistics execution.
- Coordinate with client, shipping agents, vessel operators, and site teams.
- Manage shipping documentation and backload activities.
- Drive efficiency, cost control, and continuous improvement of logistics processes.
Asset Management
- Oversee all logistics assets (vehicles, cranes, forklifts, trailers, containers, lifting gear).
- Ensure assets are registered, inspected, certified, and maintained.
- Monitor utilization, performance, downtime, and lifecycle planning.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Manage mobilization/demobilization and equipment readiness.
- Supervise laydown areas, storerooms, and logistics facilities.
Inventory & Warehousing
- Manage inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables.
- Ensure accurate stock control, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Oversee material handling, storage, and preservation.
- Conduct periodic stock audits.
Fuel Management
- Monitor and control fuel usage for vehicles and equipment.
- Track consumption, investigate discrepancies, and report usage.
- Leadership & People Management
- Lead logistics personnel (drivers, operators, storekeepers, dispatchers).
- Set clear roles, safety expectations, and performance standards.
- Monitor productivity, discipline, and compliance.
- Support training and continuous improvement initiatives.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all activities comply with HSE and project procedures.
- Promote strong safety culture and leadership.
- Participate in risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
- Stop and report unsafe practices.
What we would like you to bring
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 7 years' experience in logistics within construction, EPC, oil & gas, or similar industries.
- Proven experience in transportation, warehousing, and asset management.
- Experience with heavy equipment and remote site operations is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of logistics operations, asset tracking, and maintenance planning.
- Understanding of lifting equipment compliance and certification.
- Experience with inventory systems, fuel management, and ERP tools.
- Proficient in MS Excel and reporting systems.
