We are looking for a junior economist to strengthen our Cross Asset team. Based in Paris, you will support our Chief Economist and work closely with portfolio managers across the wider investment team.

Main responsibilities

1. Economic coverage of the euro area and the UK:

1. Political developments at national/EU level
2. Cyclical analysis (GDP, CPI)
3. Fiscal policy
4. Monetary policy

1. Assist the chief economist in elaboration of the global macro scenario with regards to international/transversal subjects , especially on geopolitical developments (trade tensions, shocks to oil market, US-China technology decoupling...)

1. Benchmarking of our macro scenario with the main brokers/consultancies on: US, Euro Area, China

Attributes:

1. Master's degree with a strong academic background in economics.
2. A successful initial experience, at least at internship level, is required for this role. This may have been gained either on the sell-side (bank/broker) or within an asset management firm.
3. Ability to link macroeconomic themes to their potential market impacts
4. Solid skills in econometrics and data analysis tools, knowledge of Macrobond, Datastream and Bloomberg would be an advantage.
5. You work quickly, independently, and can both anticipate and cope with pressure from markets and investors
6. Exceptional organizational skills - be able to manage different deadlines and priorities from different sources and ensure timeliness of delivery
7. Proactive nature - curious and eager to learn while be able to anticipate future requirements and
8. Strong written skills, numeracy and creativity
9. Strong communication skills- to be able to communicate and adapt the investment messages to a range of audiences
10. Strong interpersonal skills - to be able to build good relationships with key stakeholders
11. Language: Fluent in English
