The role sits within the COO office, supporting a fast-growing New Business function. You'll take ownership of vendor strategy, contract negotiation, cost management and relationship governance across an expanding portfolio - working directly with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure procurement decisions align with commercial objectives while maintaining rigorous controls. It's a role for someone ready to grow beyond traditional procurement into broader operational and strategic responsibility, with genuine exposure to other COO-office initiatives for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and execute vendor selection strategies aligned with business requirements, cost targets and risk criteria
2. Lead contract negotiations, securing competitive terms and clear performance expectations
3. Establish and manage vendor relationships across multiple categories, including regular performance reviews and escalation management
4. Build and maintain a centralised vendor database - contractual obligations, key contacts, renewal dates, performance metrics
5. Conduct cost analysis and drive procurement optimisation initiatives without compromising quality or risk management
6. Manage vendor onboarding, compliance verification and periodic audits
7. Use AI tools and automation to streamline procurement processes and sharpen decision-making
8. Prepare procurement documentation, business cases and vendor performance reports for stakeholder review
9. Identify process improvements and operational risks, escalating and resolving with attention to detail
10. Contribute to broader COO office initiatives and cross-functional projects as they arise

What You'll Bring

1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Legal or related discipline
2. 4-8 years' experience in procurement, vendor management or operational roles within finance, professional services or investment management, including vendor contract review
3. Demonstrated experience in vendor selection, contract negotiation and performance management
4. Strong commercial mindset - balancing cost, quality, risk and strategic fit
5. Advanced proficiency with AI tools and automation, with a track record of embedding them into daily workflows
6. Exceptional attention to detail across complex vendor data and contractual obligations
7. Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills across vendors, internal teams and senior leadership

Good to Have

1. Experience in investment management, financial services or technology sectors
2. Familiarity with procurement or vendor management platforms
3. Background in financial analysis, cost modelling or business case development
4. Knowledge of compliance frameworks and risk management in vendor relationships
