Principal Accountabilities:
- Operate an industrial fork truck to move palletized materials between railcars, vans, flatbed trucks, and the warehouse
- Use a vehicle-mounted computer to effectively manage inventories and accurately ship/receive materials
- Operate packaging equipment (palletizer, stretch-film wrapper, labeler, and conveyors) used to stack and wrap materials prior to warehousing
- Effectively communicate with counterparts and management during shift exchanges
- Perform housekeeping to maintain acceptable standards
- Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer
- Cargill requires employees to be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
- Basic use of a computer
- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions, which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
- Ability to perform physical job duties, which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays with advance notice
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED or a minimum of two years of equivalent work experience
- Prior experience in production/warehouse-related work
- Experience operating a forklift
- Experience with SAP and/or warehouse inventory management systems
- Knowledge of rail safety procedures
- Basic experience in troubleshooting various mechanical components and systems
