POSITION: Transportation & Logistics Coordinator
LOCATION: Jupiter/Stuart FL.
STATUS: Hourly Non-Exempt
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Transportation & Logistics Coordinator to support our operations in the industrial gas turbine manufacturing and reconditioning industry. This role is critical to ensuring on-time movement of turbine hardware, parts, and materials—often under tight deadlines for customer power plants. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with transportation management systems (TMS), such as Kuebix, and proven expertise in setting up expedited shipments, including hot shots, to minimize downtime and meet customer commitments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of turbine parts, components, and tooling, including serialized and customer-owned equipment.
- Utilize TMS software (Kuebix preferred) for routing, load planning, and carrier management to achieve cost-efficient and reliable transportation.
- Arrange expedited shipments (hot shots, same-day couriers, dedicated trucks, air freight) to meet urgent power plant and production requirements.
- Partner with carriers, freight forwarders, and 3PLs to negotiate rates, secure capacity, and ensure compliance with service standards.
- Monitor and track critical shipments; proactively resolve delays or disruptions to prevent customer downtime.
- Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading (BOL), customs/TIB paperwork, and export documents.
- Collaborate with internal teams (warehouse, production, purchasing, engineering, and customer service) to align logistics support with project timelines.
- Ensure proper handling of serialized and high-value turbine hardware, maintaining traceability throughout the logistics process.
- Track freight costs and performance metrics; support continuous improvement in cost savings and delivery reliability.
- Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and international trade regulations as applicable.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education & Training
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience with Associate's Degree).
Skills/Experience
- 2+ years of transportation or logistics coordination experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS); Kuebix experience strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to coordinate and manage expedited shipments (hot shots, same-day, dedicated, and air freight).
- Knowledge of freight modes (LTL, FTL, parcel, air, international), with an understanding of special requirements for turbine hardware and oversized freight.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills when working with carriers and customers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word); ERP system experience (SAP a plus).
