PetmatePOSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking MRO Crib & Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team at Petmate. The MRO Crib & Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) supplies — from sourcing and procurement to inventory control and issuance. This role combines hands-on crib management with strategic supplier relations, ensuring materials are available, properly handled, and cost-effective. The position requires collaboration across maintenance, operations, engineering, and finance teams to support plant efficiency, safety, and compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory & Crib Management
- Manage receiving, shipping, storage, and issuance of MRO materials.
- Inspect, mark, and identify items to prevent damage.
- Issue tools and supplies to operators per standard process.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through random sampling and data entry.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in line with 5S standards.
- Ensure equipment is kept in good operating condition.
- Follow inventory and sign-out procedures for shop supplies and equipment.
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Source and procure MRO supplies and services, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable deals, in conjunction with Indirect Sourcing Manager.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders to prevent shortages.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and products.
- Maintain and manage supplier relationships, addressing issues promptly.
- Collaborate with finance to establish new vendors, reconcile purchase orders, and ensure timely payments.
- Track and report procurement metrics and performance.
- Ensure all EPA waste-handling processes are managed correctly in collaboration with maintenance.
Compliance & Collaboration
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
- Work closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to understand needs and requirements.
- Promote team concepts and participate in cross-functional initiatives.
- Complete necessary paperwork and standardized work procedures.
- Practice and promote safe work practices throughout the plant.

Experience/Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of related experience OR bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related field with 3+ years of procurement experience (preferably in MRO).
- Ability to perform mathematical operations using units of money, weight, measurement, volume, and distance.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; CMMS and procurement software experience preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.
