About the Role
We are representing an established luxury fine jewelry retailer seeking an experienced Jewelry Buyer to support purchasing, inventory management, and vendor coordination across the business. The client is specifically seeking a solid, hands-on Buyer with prior jewelry industry experience who can step in, execute, and support day-to-day buying needs. This role will work closely with senior leadership and merchandising partners and is focused on execution rather than ownership of overall buying strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute purchasing decisions across assigned jewelry categories in alignment with established merchandising direction.
- Analyze sales performance, inventory levels, and product movement to support replenishment and buying decisions.
- Manage relationships with approved vendors, including order placement, follow-ups, and delivery coordination.
- Support trade show attendance and buying activities as needed.
- Assist with pricing accuracy, product setup, and inventory flow.
- Collaborate with sales leadership to support special orders and client requests.
- Partner with operations and merchandising teams to ensure product availability and alignment with sales needs.
- Maintain organized and accurate buying records and inventory data.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Prior experience as a Buyer within the fine jewelry industry.
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and execution-focused.
- Comfortable working onsite in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Strong understanding of jewelry product categories, vendors, and buying cycles.
- Organized, reliable, and able to work collaboratively with leadership and sales teams.
Qualifications
- 3–7+ years of buying experience within fine jewelry or luxury retail.
- Experience attending and buying at industry trade shows strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with comfort reviewing sales and inventory data.
- Proficiency with Excel and inventory or merchandising systems.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
- U.S. work authorization required. Sponsorship not available.
Working Conditions/Environment
- Location: Onsite in Metairie, Louisiana.
- Work Schedule:
- Tuesday through Saturday.
- Closed Sunday and Monday.
- Core hours: 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
