Come build your career at Tessco! We are searching for a Logistics Coordinator in Hunt Valley, MD to join our team!
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing and optimizing all transportation activities supporting inbound, outbound, and third-party shipments across the Alliance Hold Co. This role ensures that materials, equipment, and finished goods move efficiently between suppliers, distribution centers, and customers while maintaining cost-effectiveness, accuracy, and service-level compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrier selection processes by evaluating rates, performance, and capacity.
- Monitor daily shipments both domestic and international (parcel, LTL, FTL, and air freight) and ensure alignment with delivery SLAs and customer expectations.
- Monitor and report on KPIs such as on-time delivery, cost per mile, damage rates, and order cycle time.
- Assist in developing transportation models and simulations to forecast shipping needs and optimize routing.
- Collaborate with 3PLs, carriers, and internal warehouse teams to streamline inbound and outbound transportation processes.
- Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to manage shipments, improve visibility, and maintain accurate data.
- Resolve shipping delays, damage claims, or service issues promptly and professionally.
- Potential travel of 5 - 10%
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of freight markets, transportation regulations, and Incoterms.
- Experience with parcel, LTL, FTL, and international logistics.
- Understanding of network optimization or route planning software.
- 2+ years of experience in logistics or transportation, ideally within telecom, distribution, or electronics.
- Excel and data analysis skills preferred.
- Familiarity with telecom products and typical distribution challenges (e.g., site-specific deliveries, critical project timing).
- Experience with FreightPOP(TMS) or NetSuite(ERP) not required but preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Compensation: $55,000 - $60,000
