At Wellness Embodied, we’re expanding opportunities in Cooktown — a picturesque town of 2,500 people with reef, rainforest, and adventure right on your doorstep. We’re seeking an experienced physiotherapist to join our outreach clinic in a role that offers flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to truly immerse yourself in community healthcare.
The Role
This role is best suited to a self-motivated musculoskeletal generalist with strong clinical reasoning and time management skills. You’ll run the Cooktown clinic day-to-day with remote admin support from our Cairns team, and collaborate with an OT who works in the clinic five days a week (outside of school holidays).
Caseload includes:
Wide variety: NDIS, WorkCover, CTP, and private clients.
Musculoskeletal, generalist, and community presentations.
Opportunities to build relationships in the Cooktown community and grow a loyal client base.
Flexibility is key — choose from locum, contract, part-time, or full-time arrangements.

You’ll Be a Great Fit If You:
Have strong musculoskeletal and generalist physio skills.
Can manage time, bookings, and clinic operations independently.

Important: This role requires an experienced physiotherapist — it is not suitable for new graduates or candidates newly arrived from overseas due to the level of independence required.
Requirements
3+ years of Private Practice experience.
Skilled as a generalist- able to see NDIS and clients of all ages.
Independent and committed to excellence in client care.
Align with our values- treating the person as a whole, not just a body part. If you believe every client needs 1-3 sessions of physio and can self-manage, this is probably not the clinic for you.
High degree of emotional intelligence, excellent communicator, compassionate individual who's capable of conversing with clients of all walks of life and cultural backgrounds, including ATSI.
Full AHPRA registration and insurance.
Full driving licence.
