Description
Pacific Retirement Services (PRS) is a nationally recognized, not-for-profit senior living and healthcare organization dedicated to empowering people to live meaningful lives as they age. Headquartered in Medford, Oregon, PRS owns, operates, develops, and manages a diverse portfolio of Life Plan Communities, affordable housing communities, and mission-driven programs serving older adults across the western United States.
With approximately $400 million in combined owned and managed revenue, 12 Life Plan Communities, and 25 affordable housing communities, PRS is experiencing continued growth through strategic affiliations, acquisitions, and expansion initiatives. As the organization scales, PRS is committed to strengthening enterprise-wide capabilities, driving operational excellence, and creating long-term value while remaining deeply rooted in its mission and values.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Vice President of Procurement and Strategic Sourcing will serve as the organization's senior procurement executive, responsible for developing and leading an enterprise-wide procurement and sourcing strategy across PRS's diverse and geographically dispersed portfolio. As an inaugural role, the SVP will have the opportunity to build and mature a procurement function that supports organizational growth, financial stewardship, operational excellence, and strategic decision-making.
The SVP will partner closely with executive leadership, operations, finance, legal, facilities, construction, and community leaders to establish enterprise procurement standards, strengthen supplier partnerships, optimize spending, and implement scalable governance structures. This leader will provide strategic oversight of sourcing, contracting, supplier management, procurement technology, spend analytics, and capital procurement activities, including construction, renovation, infrastructure, and facilities-related investments. A key priority for the role will be balancing enterprise standardization with local operational needs. The SVP will establish procurement governance, define centralized versus local purchasing strategies, identify opportunities for vendor consolidation and spend optimization, and implement data-driven decision-making capabilities that support the organization's continued growth.
The successful candidate will be a strategic and operational leader with demonstrated experience building, transforming, or scaling procurement functions within complex, decentralized organizations. This executive will bring strong business acumen, change leadership skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders across a matrixed environment while fostering collaborative partnerships throughout the enterprise.
Given the wide geographic presence of the PRS portfolio, the SVP must be highly visible and engaged across the organization. The position requires regular travel to PRS communities and operating locations. The position may be based in any of the states where PRS currently operates, including Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, or Colorado.
The ideal candidate will combine strategic vision with hands-on implementation and bring the necessary leadership skills, procurement expertise, and an enterprise mindset. The SVP will establish a best-in-class procurement function that supports PRS's mission, growth objectives, and long-term financial sustainability.
