Project Overview:
COTS is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Project Architect for a contract-based role that will lead the design and construction process from concept through completion, managing schedules, budgets, and stakeholder coordination. Responsibilities will include developing detailed documentation, ensure regulatory compliance, and guide junior staff, all while collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver a successful renovation aligned with the nonprofit’s mission.
Scope of Work:
The selected contractor will be responsible for:
- Develop and manage architectural project schedules.
- Lead the design process from conceptual phase through construction documentation.
- Coordinate with clients to define project requirements and objectives.
- Prepare detailed architectural drawings and plans.
- Collaborate with engineers and consultants to integrate structural, mechanical, and electrical requirements.
- Oversee construction phases and conduct site visits to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Manage project budgets and schedules.
- Ensure adherence to building codes, zoning laws, and industry standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior architectural staff.
- Ensure project documentation is accurate and up to date.
Contract Term:
This is a contract-based position with an initial term of up to one (1) year, with the potential for extension based on project progress and completion
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture
- Master’s degree in architecture or a related field preferred.
- Professional registration as a licensed architect is a plus
- Proficiency in architectural design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
- LEED accreditation required.
- Extensive experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale architectural projects.
- Strong portfolio demonstrates innovative and functional design solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Experience with sustainable design practices.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in architectural design and project management.
