Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Purchasing Director is responsible for leading all purchasing, receiving, and inventory control functions in support of Food & Beverage and hotel operations. This role develops and directs purchasing strategies, vendor management, inventory flow, and cost controls to ensure efficient operations, compliance with Hyatt standards, and support of overall financial and operational objectives.
Key ResponsibilitiesPurchasing & Inventory Management- Lead sourcing and procurement of food, beverage, rooms, and operational supplies
- Develop and manage purchasing policies and procedures
- Maintain par levels aligned with business volumes
- Monitor obsolete inventory and coordinate write-offs
- Conduct inventories and reconcile to financial systems
- Ensure FIFO, cleanliness, and health code compliance
- Obtain competitive bids and process purchase orders
Receiving & Systems Compliance- Oversee daily receiving and invoice processing
- Validate purchase orders, quantities, and pricing
- Refuse non-conforming deliveries and obtain credits
- Maintain accurate documentation
- Utilize BirchStreet and Avendra systems
Operational Leadership- Supervise and train purchasing and storeroom colleagues
- Maintain clean receiving and storage areas
- Oversee Hotel vehicles and maintenance
- Coordinate equipment service contracts
Cross-Functional Collaboration- Partner with Executive Chef on pars and FIFO
- Review Catering Event Orders
- Collaborate with F&B and Events leadership and Finance
Qualifications- BirchStreet proficiency required
- 2-5 years Food & Beverage experience
- 2-3 years purchasing supervisory experience
- Hotel or resort background preferred
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Service-oriented mindset
