- Purchasing and Planning Specialist

We are seeking a Purchasing and Planning Specialist to support purchasing, inventory planning, vendor communication, and shipping coordination in a hands-on manufacturing environment. This position plays an important role in helping ensure materials, purchased parts, consumables, supplies, and finished goods are ordered, tracked, received, and shipped accurately and on time.
The Purchasing and Planning Specialist works closely with production, sales, parts and service, shipping and receiving, finance, vendors, and carriers to support daily business needs. This role is a good fit for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable following through on open items, and able to keep multiple priorities moving in a small company environment.
What You'll Do- Place, track, update, and close purchase orders for materials, parts, consumables, supplies, and other business needs.
- Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, lead times, order status, delivery expectations, and issue resolution.
- Help monitor inventory needs, material shortages, vendor delays, and planning concerns.
- Support inventory tracking, cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipping and receiving activities.
- Work with vendors, carriers, and internal team members to support timely and accurate movement of goods.
- Use Global Shop or similar ERP/MRP systems to maintain purchasing, planning, inventory, vendor, and shipment information.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to purchase orders, inventory, vendors, shipments, and receiving activity.
- 3 or more years of related experience in purchasing, inventory, materials planning, shipping coordination, or a similar role.
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organization, follow-through, attention to detail, and communication skills.
- Experience working with vendors, purchase orders, inventory records, or shipping documentation.
- Experience in a manufacturing, production, OEM, or equipment-related environment is helpful.
- Work in a hands-on role where your organization and follow-through make a real difference.

- Experience supporting inventory audits, cycle counts, freight coordination, vendor pricing, or supplier follow-up
- Experience in a manufacturing, production, OEM, or equipment-related environment
- Experience with Global Shop or a similar ERP/MRP system
- Associates or better
- Detail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well
