American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist for an acute care hospital setting in Georgia, requiring a minimum of 1 year of experience and active GA state licensure, NBCOT, and BLS certifications.
Details- Acute care hospital OT unit
- Preferred shift is 4x10, 7:30–18:00; alternate schedule available as 5x8s with split days (Mon/Wed: 9:45–18:15, Tues/Thurs/Fri: 7:30–16:00)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- May float within scope of practice to an affiliated outpatient facility as needed
- Patient population includes orthopedic, neurological, and progressive disease cases such as Parkinson's disease, arthritis, amputee, and other progressive neurological disorders
- Active GA state OT license required at time of consideration (license required if applicable)
- NBCOT certification required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of OT experience required
- Proficiency with dynamic splints, functional splints, and static splints required
- Experience with upper and lower extremity treatment required
- Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Local candidates are accepted
- RTO maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
- Travelers are expected to work major holidays that fall within their assignment period — if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested; if three major holidays fall within the assignment, the traveler is expected to work two and may request one holiday off
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
- Travelers must have been away from all affiliated network facilities for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
- No alternate shift or special scheduling requests are permitted; the posted shift is firm
- Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred
